Academics
All Providence Cristo Rey High School students are enrolled in a college preparatory curriculum that integrates academic courses and a corporate work study program placement at one of Indianapolis’ leading employers. How does that work? Three out of 4 weeks each month, you attend classes on 4 days and go to work on the 5th day. One week each month, you go to work on Friday as well. The days you go to work, generally so do all of the students in your academic group. Therefore, you do not miss any class activities. Here are sample monthly schedules that a typical student follows

Graduation Requirements
All students take core classes leading to a Core 40 or Core 40 Honors Diploma. To satisfy basic Core 40 requirements students take
- English/Language Arts – 8 credits
- Math – 6 credits
- Science – 6 credits
- Social Studies – 6 credits
- Theology – 8 credits
- Directed Electives – 5 credits includes World Languages, Fine Arts, Career-Technical
- Physical Education – 2 credits
- Health and Wellness- 1 credit
- Additional Electives-6 credit
To earn Core 40 with academic honors diplomas, students will earn additional math, world language and fine arts credits. They also will demonstrate other academic proficiencies that the State of Indiana DOE requires.
Dual Credit
Qualified Providence Cristo Rey High School students may take dual credit courses at IUPUI with the approval of the PCRHS principal and IUPUI Admissions Director. Students successfully completing such classes earn credit both toward high school graduation and college degree requirements.
