What is Providence Cristo Rey High School?

Providence Cristo Rey ... a Catholic, college prep education merging classroom and workplace
Providence Cristo Rey High School, the newest Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, is a coeducational, college-preparatory secondary school sponsored by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana.  Unlike any other Catholic high school in Indiana, Providence Cristo Rey integrates classroom instruction with real-life corporate work study experiences for each student by partnering with some of the finest businesses and corporations in the Indianapolis area.   These partnerships allow Providence Cristo Rey to make a faith-based, student-centered education available at a very affordable cost to its students.

A solid academic program
Providence Cristo Rey High School prepares its students for college by providing a college preparatory curriculum that is both student-centered and challenging.  Real-life problem-solving and issues of social justice will be integral to each course.  The course of study is consistent with the new Indiana Core 40 requirements and will prepare students for some of the finest colleges and universities in the country.  Providence Cristo Rey will apply for accreditation from the North Central Association.

Real-life work experience for every student
The Corporate Work Study Program is an integral part of the regular curriculum. As part of the program, every student gains real on-the-job experience in entry-level positions at area businesses or organizations.  Through this business experience, Providence Cristo Rey students build the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence to be successful in higher education, in the workplace, and in life.  Each student works five full weekdays each month at a local business or corporation, and class schedules are arranged so that no student misses other academic classes due to work. The Providence Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program provides transportation to and from work.  Through this program, students earn over 70% of their tuition.  Students may keep any monies that may be earned during summer vacations.

A variety of co-curricular activities
At Providence Cristo Rey, we know that life is more than book learning.  That's why we've integrated a work component as well.  But in order to promote the total academic, personal, and spiritual growth of each student, Providence Cristo Rey High School offers a variety of activities and programs, many of which are student-designed and student-driven.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in Liturgies, retreats, leadership development programs, dances, rallies, clubs, student government, sports, and many other activities.
